Park Avenue event sells out in hours

The upsurge in interest for kickboxing in Ireland has lead to tickets for the next major event in Belfast selling out within 24 hours.
Just days after the Bash & Mash celebration in Bangor, all 500 seats for the April 4 ‘Next Generation’ show at the Park Avenue Hotel were snapped up.
The show will feature 40 of the best new kickboxers from across Ireland and the UK pitting their wits in the ring for the first time.
“This is incredible,” said Billy Murray, Ireland’s Mr Kickboxing and promoter of the show. “This event has no star names, no major titles, yet tickets have completely gone. I put them on-sale on Monday morning and by Tuesday we were out. We have managed to wiggle out an 100 extra tickets and these too have gone.
“It just shows the incredible pull kickboxing has now in Belfast. And it’s heart is very much in east Belfast.”

All fighters are matched fairly and the whole event will governed under the WKN rules.
The show will take place between 3-7pm. All fights will be two by two minute rounds or three by one and a half, depending on length of time training.

Details of weight-ins and medicals for the Park Ave event:

The Weigh-in will take place in the venue (Park Avenue Hotel Cambridge Room) at 12noon sharp and the medical will follow at 12.30pm. Once the medical checks have been completed, WKN A-Class referee Mr Bob Hunter will conduct a rules meeting so everyone is clear of the rules before the start. Equipment: Head Guards, Gum Shields, Kick Boots, Shin Guards and Groin Guards are all compulsory. The promoter will supply gloves and head guards, all other equipment must be supplied by the fighter. However, fighters can use their own head guards, this is something we would encourage.

Please make all fighters bring their License (if they have received)with them so the Doctor and WKN Official can sign them at the time. If you are bringing spectators/fans they must wait in the foyer of the hotel and will only be permitted access to the main venue when the doors open at 2pm. The first bout will commence at 3pm sharp and the event should be over by approximately 7pm
